Lily is the fourth foster dog rescued from a puppy mill/large scale puppy production facility. She was in the best shape physically, though I did have to pull three of her teeth. Dogs in puppy mills have notoriously bad teeth. Lily was no exception. What is sad that she is only 3 years old. She should not be loosing teeth that young. Lily is a long-haired chihuahua who is either very chubby or pregnant. We'll know for sure soon. She is very sweet and loves to have her chin scratched, but is not comfortable being held on a lap.
It is very likely these dogs never felt grass on their feet or lay on a porch enjoying a spring day. They are now clean, free of ticks, being treated for ear mites, and sleeping in soft dog beds. They get lots of human attention, and as you can see, they all like each other. We spend lots of time in the back yard, where they can explore and see the world beyond a breeding kennel. They've started playing with dog toys, and have slowly integrated into our pack.
Sasha is very affectionate, loves to be held, and gives kisses
Karma's fur is starting to grow out
The pups have doubled in size (L to R, Zane, Freya, Buster, and Darwin)
