Well, looky here, another update.  After quite a lull, the dog rescue business suddenly picked up.  We took in two dogs the last two weeks, and Fritz has been adopted.  I’ll miss the little guy, but I know he is going to a super home.  Grace is a beautiful little girl, with a good chunk of either Chihuahua or Miniature Pinscher or both in her.  She and Fritz were the best of pals, but she seems to have adapted well to his departure.  Paco just arrived today, timid and full of fear.  Yet Jancy calmed him down very quickly, and then he warmed to me too.  I haven’t any earthly clue what breed he might have in him, but he is a striking young man.  If you know of anyone who might like to adopt one of these dogs, have them contact me.  More information on them can be found at my petfinder site.

 
Paco       

The big switch to Meadville Lombard Theological School has gone well so far.  I don’t miss the long commutes to Nashville or the ridiculous tests we had to take at Vanderbilt.  I have quite a few telephone conferences for school, some in large groups, some with just two other people.  I’ll begin 8 hours of community service in October at Animal Harbor, the animal shelter for the Franklin County Humane Society.  This will be a big part of my schooling, what they call “Community Studies.”  I will talk about it weekly with my Triad (two other students), as well as monthly with the entire class of about 30 students.  Years two and three will require 20 hours of work in a church, which will count as our internship, for those seeking ministerial fellowship (Unitarian Universalist Accreditation).

Those are some good looking dogs. I can't believe people didn't want them. Sad to think what they went through before you found them.
